Rogers Hospitality recently published its Sustainability Report for the years 2022-2023. Based on the ambitious "Now For Tomorrow" approach, this report provides a transparent overview of the progress achieved by the company in various core areas of sustainable development.
Tangible progress
Underlining the importance of this approach, Thierry Montocchio, CEO of Rogers Hospitality, commented: "Integrating sustainability into all aspects of our business is an evolutionary journey, not a final destination. All these achievements reaffirm our commitment to continually advancing the model of responsible hospitality in Mauritius."
Deeply rooted in the company's philosophy, this approach guides its endeavours towards ever more ambitious goals. One of the major achievements of the past year has been the reduction of waste. Thanks to concerted efforts and increased awareness within the team, Rogers Hospitality has managed to reduce its waste production by 36%.
In fact, Rogers Hospitality has taken concrete steps to eliminate single-use plastics from its operations, by joining the United Nations Global Tourism Plastic Initiative, in order to contribute to the fight against plastic pollution.
An engaged and dedicated community
The group also highlights the importance of its commitment to the community, illustrated by the many strategic partnerships it has forged, such as the one with Atelier des Artisans. Such partnerships illustrate the company's ongoing commitment to sustainable development and the local community.
In acknowledging the vital importance of Mauritius' natural heritage, Rogers Hospitality has become involved in conservation and collaborative initiatives. Partnerships with non-profit organisations and agreements with nearby hotels are evidence of this commitment of preserving local ecosystems.
Moving forward, Rogers Hospitality plans to increase its use of renewable energy sources, launch a marine education centre dedicated to the preservation of the Bel Ombre lagoon, and introduce training programmes for its employees to promote a culture of sustainability.
Rogers Hospitality continues to strive to integrate sustainability into all its operations. Their commitment to sustainability, reflected through their 'Now For Tomorrow' initiative, shows the way forward to a more responsible and environmentally friendly future.
